Woodwater Academy are looking for a hardworking Site Support Assistant to join our school community.

About the Role 

The main purpose of the job is to provide short‑term, practical site support to maintain a safe, clean, and well‑presented school environment. This role is limited to low‑risk, non‑technical caretaking tasks.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Waste management - placing bins out for collection, returning them afterwards, and keeping waste areas tidy.
  • Site tidying - sweeping paths, litter picking, and ensuring communal areas remain presentable.
  • Basic grounds maintenance - trimming back low vegetation, light gardening, and general outdoor upkeep.
  • Manual handling - moving classroom resources, small furniture items, and equipment as directed.
  • General assistance - supporting simple set‑ups for school activities and keeping storage areas organised.

We are seeking someone who: 

  • Has experience of caretaking

  • Is trustworthy, hardworking and takes pride in their work 

  • Works well as part of a team and shows initiative 

  • Is well organised, and has the ability to multi-task

This role requires an enhanced DBS disclosure. 

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
